Whether you’re a home cook or a world-class chef, a knife is one of the most important tools in the kitchen.

Blenheim Forge has been tapped by culinary elites such as Gordon Ramsay and Francis Mallmann for its cutting-edge blades, and now the company is offering a limited-edition set of Damascus-steel kitchen knives exclusively to Robb Report readers. The four-piece collection includes a 210-millimeter chef’s knife, a paring knife, a carving knife, and fork, which will be accompanied by a unique leather portfolio handcrafted by artisan Harry Owen.

Founded by James Ross-Harris, Jon Warshawsky, and Richard Warner, East-London-based Blenheim Forge is known for its exquisitely patterned knives, which are painstakingly hand-forged in a lengthy and complicated process (see here for the full story of how these knives are created) that blends centuries-old Japanese sword-making techniques with modern metallurgy.

While most knives today are made with recycled steel, Blenheim uses its own proprietary virgin steel to fashion its cutlery in order to avoid any impurities that might weaken the metal. “It’s a 3.5 percent tungsten and 1.4 percent carbon alloy,” says Ross-Harris. “It’s not a million miles away from Aogami Super-steel or Blue Paper Steel, but ours is even purer.”

The knives are hammered into shape, fired, and ground before they’re polished. The final result is a blade that’s not only razor sharp but exceptionally durable. They also happen to be as beautiful as they are functional. Twenty-five sets are available, priced at $5,750 each.
