If you want to add Angelina Jolie’s old Ferrari to your collection, you’ll have to wait.

Christie’s has pulled the Oscar winner’s 1958 250 GT Coupé from its upcoming “Exceptional Sale,” according to Bloomberg. Questions about the vehicle’s provenance have arisen after it came out that it was going up for auction.

Earlier this month, Christie’s announced that the Pininfarina-designed two-seater would be one of the headline lots going up for bid at “The Exceptional Sale,” which will be held in Paris on November 20. The 250 GT Coupé isn’t the most coveted Prancing Horse of its era, so it wasn’t much of a surprise to see the auction house lean into the vehicle’s connection to one of the more famous movie stars in recent memory. What was surprising, though, as Bloomberg noted at the time, was the lack of provenance details accompanying the auction listing.

Questions about the car soon began popping up on the popular Ferrari Chat internet forum, with users claiming Jolie didn’t own the black 250 GT Coupé. Bloomberg reports that further investigation raised further doubts about the legal proprietor. The car, which was originally painted white, was sold during an auction overseen by RM Sotheby’s in 2015 and at some point was listed for sale by Copley Motorcars in Boston. The latter is listed as the vehicle’s last known owner on the Barchetta.cc online Ferrari archive.

Christie’s has continued to claim that it belongs to the actress, despite reportedly being unable to provide photographic proof of its title or other paperwork. It has since pulled the Ferrari from the auction and deactivated the online listing associated with the vehicle.

“At the request of Ms. Jolie’s team, Christie’s will not offer this lot at auction in November, to better position the lot for future sale,” Edward Lewine, a Christie’s spokesperson, told Robb Report over email on Tuesday morning.

Jolie previously appeared in a Guerlain ad with a car similar to the 250 GT Coupé that was expected to sell for between $660,000 and $880,000 at auction. It’s unclear if the two Ferraris are the same. It’s also unclear if the vehicle may have been a gift to Jolie. The actress has previously put up gifts from her former husband, Brad Pitt, up for auction, including a painting of Winston Churchill that Christie’s sold in 2021 for over $10 million.
