Drake isn’t one for quiet luxury.
Just look at the latest addition to the “8 a.m. in Charlotte” rapper’s already outrageous vehicle collection: a Brabus Crawler. Like so many of the finer things in Drizzy’s life, his new off-roader is big, brash and guaranteed to annoy a lot of people online.
News of Drake’s latest acquisition comes via longtime pal Tony Bet. The manager of Driving Emotions Motorcar posted a series of photos of the vehicle to Instagram on Thursday, including one of its plaque, which reads “Specially Built for Aubrey Drake Graham.”
The 1-of-15 Crawler is the perfect Drake vehicle. It’s ridiculous and completely unnecessary in almost every way imaginable. Unlike so many of Brabus’s builds it’s an original creation, though it does borrow liberally from one of the tuner’s favorite base vehicles—the Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen. It features a heavily sculpted carbon-fiber body that has several nods to the boxy SUV, including its front end, headlamps and taillights. The open-air interior, which is protected by a high-strength steel tube frame, also comes equipped with the vehicle’s steering wheel and infotainment system, though its carbon-backed, quilted-leather racing seats with four-point harnesses are new.
The Crawler is powered by a specially tuned version of the G63’s twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 that pumps out 900 horses and 992 ft lbs of torque. It also features the SUV’s nine-speed automatic transmission, which sends power to all four wheels, as well as its front and rear portal axles and locking differentials. Rounding things out is a set of 20-inch monoblock wheels wrapped in chunky off-road tires.
It’s unclear how much Drake paid for the off-road beast, but it cost around $800,000 when it debuted in 2019. It wouldn’t be surprised if the rapper paid more, though, considering one was recently listed on the Brabus website for $940,000. Whatever the price, it’s a natural fit for a vehicle collection that already includes an exceedingly rare Mercedes-Maybach G650 Landaulet, Rolls-Royce Cullinan customized by Chrome Hearts and, most impressive of all, a $200 million Boeing 767.
