It’s not just the cars but all-electric boats are very much a present phenomenon and not a pipe dream. They are not part of the future but very much constituting of the present with intelligent packaging making them superior to conventional boats. The Marian M800 Spyder is one such boat that combines a sleek retro-infused design along with silent electric power. They are also an answer in response to tightening regulations that are slowly governing waters. Electric boats are not only kinder to the environment and easier to run while also being packaged better. They can also be designed more freely as that is evident with the sleek styling of the Marian M800 Spyder.

As the name says, it is the Austrian shipyard has made a Bowrider version of the Marian M 800 where the teak surface has been replaced by additional seating for Alfresco boating. The Spyder as the name says is the open-top version with classic lines. While the hull is like an M800, a lot has been redesigned too but also to be noted, the boat was designed to be electric from the start and that includes a 125kWh battery capacity coupled with 150 kW motor power.

It is a water-cooled permanent magnet synchronous motor that helps propel the boat to a top-speed of33 knots. A cruising speed of 22 knots brings in a good combination of range and adjustability. Speaking of which at a sedate speed, expect a range of 30 nautical miles. The 125kWh batteries are packaged intelligently and help provide a seamless level of thrust thanks to an abundance of torque.

The Marian M800 Spyder has a new deck design too with flexible packaging which increases space and brings in additional seating where you can get up to 10 passengers. The cabin is luxuriously trimmed with specially selected leather and they would of course be personalized to suit buyer requirements. The color, equipment, materials along with fixtures can be individually selected too. There’s gadgetry as well including Bang & Olufsen marine speakers, ambiance lighting which can be controlled by your phone, and more.

Electric battery-powered boats were said to be a difficult proposition due to the extra weight, complex engineering, and increased cost while water with its drag can cause high battery depletion too. However, the advent of technology has certainly brought forward the use of electric boats for short-distance use plus the environmental benefits that it brings while also reducing fuel costs.

Going forward we can see more and more electric boats coming in and in the case of the Marian M800 Spyder, it is retailed at $270,000 and that makes for an alluring bowrider with a retro twist.
