The Cannes Yachting Festival is the place to discover the most elite yachts in the industry. Beautiful array of vessels of all sizes to see and explore. It is there that we are exposed to the new and upcoming as its the case of the Blu Martin Sea Top 13.90. The brand owned by Sea Engineering Group decided to take one of the best-loved models in its range and renew its styling, equipment and technology, while retaining all the points of strength that have made it such a success: class, elegance and livability.
The distinctive feature of the exterior is the new design of the side windows for the Blu Martin Sea Top 13.90, with a semi-transparent band running along the side of the boat, concealing the windows, the opening portholes and the air intakes giving the sides of the Sea Top 13.90 a more streamlined appearance and even more sleek and contemporary look.
The hard top, a feature highly appreciated on the previous model for its practicality and versatility, has been the subject of further development, with modifications across the board: from the windshield’s angle of attack and the shape of the side windows, to the opening mechanism and the use of laminated tempered glass. The area of the section that opens has been increased, visibility has been improved in all directions and even the aesthetics benefit from the more dynamic styling and the new fin that the aerials and radar are mounted on
The exterior spaces are now even better arranged with the ability to allow the table in the cockpit folds away so that the stern sofa can be enjoyed to the full, creating a spacious open-air rest and relaxation area. The stern mooring cleats have also been moved to a more practical position for mooring.
Forward, the sun pad is now fitted with an adjustable backrest, so you can always find the most comfortable position, while a transparent band that runs from the centre of the bow to the base of the windshield, and is also integrated with the manhole, floods the cabin below with light.
With a length of 13.90 metres and a maximum beam of over 4 metres, the new Sea Top 13.90 by Blu Martin can carry up to 12 passengers in comfort. Below deck, the layout features a galley, a dinette and two head compartments, while for the night area, owners can choose between arrangements featuring two or three double cabins, neither of which make use of bunk beds. The shipyard has a tradition of offering interiors with the maximum customization potential in terms of colors and materials.
The novelties in Sea Top 13.90 can be seen when piloting the yacht too, with a new helm station inspired by ergonomics developed in the automotive industry that offers a bigger and better organised space for the new instrumentation. A special panel featuring two 12-inch touchscreens, integrated with the onboard instrumentation, is used to control all navigation parameters in the most practical and safest way possible.
Four different engine variants are available for Sea Top 13.90. Three with Volvo Penta units, starting with the IPS 500s (2×370 CV) and rising to the more powerful IPS 600s (2×435 CV) and the D6s (2×400 CV) with Dual Prop outdrives and transmissions. With IPS 600 engines, fuel consumption is at the low end in the category (95 litres/hour at cruising speed) because of the efficiency of the hull with its intentionally unchanged design. Performance is more than respectable for this type of boat, with a cruising speed of 29 knots and a top speed of 38 knots.
For owners who prefer a more traditional approach, Yanmar diesel engines rated 480 hp each, with shaftline transmissions, are also available.
