This Barely Driven Porsche 911 Is an Ode to the Marque’s First Speedster, and It’s Up for Grabs

Here’s another shot at one of the most exclusive 997-generation Porsche 911s.

A rare 2011 911 Speedster is currently up for sale through GH Vehicles in Florida.  It is one of less than 400 that rolled off the lines and is somehow available with its original delivery mileage.

As the sixth generation of Porsche’s most iconic model was making its towards the finish line. Inspired by the open-top 356 from the 1950s, the variant was only the third 911 Speedster ever built at the time (a fourth arrived in 2019). It may just look like another cabriolet to the untrained eye, but enthusiasts will note two key differences that set the model apart—a lowered windshield and a double hump behind the backseats where’s the vehicle’s soft top could be stored on sunny days. Only 356 were built as a tribute to the German marque’s first speedster model.

This example up for grabs, no. 069/356, is finished in Carrera White, one of only two colors the model was available in (the other was Pure Blue). That hue is basically unbroken across the exterior, with the exception of the vehicle’s 19-inch gloss black rims. The interior is the inverse, with black the dominant tone. Special details include “Speedster” branding on both seats, a plaque mounted on the dashboard that bears the edition numbers, and polished door sills.

The most recent 911 Speedster is based on the 997 GTS which means it has a 3.8-liter water-cooled flat-six sitting in the engine bay. That mill is mated to a seven-speed PDK gearbox that sends 408 hp and 310 ft lbs of torque to the rear wheel. That’s enough oomph to help rocket the car from zero to 60 mph in 4.2 seconds and push it to a top speed of 189 mph. It was also the last 911 available with hydraulic steering, a feature that allows for a more driver-focused experience.

The most intriguing aspect of this 911 Speedster may be that it remains in as close to mint condition as possible. The sales listing says the car has just four miles on the odometer, suggesting it has not been driven at all since it was delivered. Hopefully, the next owner will have a little more fun with the vehicle.

Reach out to GH Vehicles about the 911 Speedster now if you want that to be you. No price is listed for the car, but considering its condition and rarity it wouldn’t be a shock if it fetches more than its original $275,000 sticker price.
