Patrone and Tommaso Spadolini are at it again.

The Italian shipyard has enlisted the Italian architect to design another yacht inspired by the “gozzo” boats of the 1960s. Patrone tapped Spadolini back in 2022 to create a day cruiser in honor of its 100th anniversary. Aptly christened the Patrone 100, the 33-footer combines the elegance and charm of the golden age yachts with modern tech. The new Patrone 45′ has a similar design but is larger and more spacious than its predecessor.

“The Patrone 45′ was born on the wave of the success of the Patrone 100 and the requests of many owners who wanted the same charm and elegance of that 10-meter boat on a larger scale,” Spadolini said in a statement. “For the Patrone 45′ (as for its predecessor), our goal was to create an open cruiser designed for people who want to live the whole day outdoors without sacrificing absolute comfort in the interiors.”

Spanning 46 feet, the new flagship is a contemporary twist on the classic Ligurian gozzo with a sleek silhouette and a sporty hull. Driven by a V-Drive transmission and a pair of Yanmar 440 hp turbodiesel engines, the newcomer promises speed and seaworthiness, though no range or top speed has yet been disclosed. The yacht also showcases a range of sustainable materials, with the deck top made of eco-tech and the hull crafted from resins with low environmental impact.

The light and airy living quarters feature large windows that connect guests with the sea. Patrone offers myriad customization options, with five interior layouts available. Owners can enjoy up to three cabins, two bathrooms, and a galley, for example. “The only element that we wanted to be immovable is the owner’s cabin with its bathroom in the bow; everything else can be developed on the requests of the future owner, who can also decide whether to have a second covered galley or only the one in the cockpit,” Spadolini adds.

The interior flows seamlessly to the exterior. The bridge is fitted with a T-top that provides shade without sacrificing views, while the cockpit sports high topsides for additional protection. To the aft lies a table and an eight-seat hydraulic sofa that can be raised to access the engine room. “This shrewd idea is the result of the experience of people who really sail and go to sea, as the whole Moreno family does,” explains Spadolini. In addition, the yacht has a large sundeck that measures just over 20 square feet and a large stern swim platform that takes full advantage of the 14-foot beam. What more do you need?

The Patrone 45′ is scheduled to debut at the fall boat shows.
