One German tuning company wants to make sure that Lewis Hamilton gets a proper sendoff before his final race for Mercedes-AMG Petronas.
HOF has just unveiled a custom Mercedes-AMG G63 called the “Sir Class.” The exclusive build features several Hamilton-inspired details and is the fastest G-Wagen in history.
The Sir Class is HOF’s first vehicle and it’s easy to see why the company chose to use it as an opportunity to pay tribute to Hamilton. The British driver is the definition of a living legend when it comes to Formula 1. He’s tied with Michael Schumacher for the most driver’s championships in history (seven) and is the sole owner of records for wins (105), pole positions 104), and podium finishes (202). And the vast majority of that success has come with Mercedes, for whom he will race one last time in Sunday’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Hamilton will join Ferrari next year on a three-season contract, but no matter what he does there—even if it includes breaking the driver’s championship record—he will still always be associated with Mercedes. As such, the Sir Class has several references to the team. The G-Wagen’s exterior, which features a carbon-fiber body kit, has a silver-to-black paint job just like the team’s race cars. The Petrona’s Tiffany Green accents also make an appearance, on the badging, the side view mirror caps, and bespoke 23-inch forged wheels.
The cabin is done up in a stylish black Alcantara and Nappa leather off set by gunmetal and exposed carbon-fiber trim. As with the exterior, there are plenty of Tiffany Green accents, including on the headliner, which features an outline of the Yas Marina circuit where the Abu Dhabi GP is held. Other racing-inspired details include a rectangular F1-style steering wheel and performance bucket seats up front.
If all this hasn’t won you over, the performance upgrades will. The Sir Class has a twin-turbocharged 4.0-liter V-8 just like other G63s, but it’s been fully rebuilt and tuned so that it now produces 1,063 horses and 959 ft lbs of twist. Thanks to all the added grunt, the SUV can sprint from zero to 60 3.5 seconds and hit a top speed of 186 mph. The standard G63, which makes 585 hp and 627 ft lbs of torque, takes 4.2 seconds to reach 60 mph and tops out at 137 mph.
If you want a Hamilton-inspired G-Wagen to park in your garage, you’ll want to reach out to HOF soon. The tuner plans to build just 11 examples of the SUV. Pricing for the exclusive vehicle begins at $690,000, or about $500,000 more than the standard G63.
