Thanks to Toyota you’ll be able to drive home from your next track day without switching cars.
The Japanese giant’s motorsports division, Gazoo Racing (GR), has just unveiled its latest high-performance build, the GR Supra GT4 100th Edition Tribute. The exclusive model has everything you’d expect to find on a race car, including a colorful livery-style wrap, but has the bonus of being street-legal.
The latest version of the BMW Z4-based vehicle was conceived of as a way of celebrating the manufacture of 100 examples of the GR Supra GT4 race car. It has everything we love about the four-year-old GR Supra—a head-turning design, potent mill, and manual gearbox—along with a number of track-oriented upgrades that should make it easier to set a new personal lap record. Add in the fact that it can be driven on public roads and you have what is almost certainly the most versatile iteration of the model yet.
The new variant is based on the Lightweight trim model. It’s received a few vital visual tweaks, though, including an AC Schnitzer front splitter, new mirror caps, and a carbon-fiber rear wing. The biggest change, though, is its brash GR livery. The car is finished in a base coat of Plasma Orange that has been topped with a black and gold wrap that adds unique racing-style graphics to the car.
The GR Supra GT4 100th Edition Tribute has the same BMW-sourced turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six that you’ll find in the Lightweight. The mill is mated to a six-speed manual transmission that sends power to the rear axle and can pump out an impressive 382 horses and 368 ft lbs of torque. It also features a Bilstein Evo T1 suspension designed to maximize precision and comfort. Ride height is also 1.4 inches lower than normal.
The Gazoo Racing’s new street-legal track beast is a European exclusive for the time being. The model, which will be limited to just 100 examples, will start at €68,900 (or about $75,000) making it the most expensive GR Supra you can buy on the continent. Toyota hasn’t said whether the exclusive variant will be available in the U.S., but one can dream.
