The catamaran class just got another stylish addition.

McConaghy Boats just unveiled the interiors of an MC82P catamaran that left the Australian yard in December. Named after the Aboriginal word for “joined together,” Bundalong is billed as an all-rounder capable of long-range cruising, short weekend jaunts, or even commercial charter.

Penned inside and out by Ker Yacht Design, the 78-footer features sleek GRP hulls and a streamlined yet spacious superstructure. Onboard, the main deck is centered around a huge salon with a lounge, dining area, and open-plan galley. From here, seafarers can access a large aft deck with an alfresco dining table and plush sofas or a scenic lounge located forward of the superstructure.

The living quarters showcase expansive horizontal windows that welcome an abundance of natural light, as well as crisp white fabrics, gleaming marble benches, and light wood paneling. The layout includes four generous staterooms for guests and two cabins for crew. Three of the guest staterooms can also be converted to twins should you need extra accommodation. Speaking of which, the arrangement of any McConaghy multihull can be configured to suit each client’s requirements.

Outside, meanwhile, the flybridge is home to an informal open-air dining area and another lounge. Sunbeds have also been positioned aft so that seafarers can enjoy uninterrupted views and catch rays. In addition, the flybridge is equipped with a fixed bimini that has a retractable “sunroof” panel at the center for breezy joyrides.

Another standout feature can be found at the stern. The hydraulic aft platform can hold a 19-foot tender or provide additional deck space. It can also be used as a swim platform once the tender is deployed.

In terms of grunt, the MC82p is powered by twin Yanmar engines rated at 875 hp. Driven from the flybridge, the multihull can soar to a top speed of 28 knots or cruise at 10 knots. With a tank capacity of more than 2,100 gallons, the cat can cover up to 4,000 nautical miles at a speed of 11 knots.

Bundalong was recently captured on sea trial in Hong Kong and looked nothing short of spectacular on the waves. The best part is McConaghy has a larger, 100-foot cat in the pipeline. Stay tuned.
